Who does Drumlin Systems typically work with?

Our services are specialized for small businesses, community non-profits, and K-12 school districts. We have specialized sector knowledge from past professional experiences and contracts supporting school districts in New England and non-profits in the United States.

Are you an agency or an independent consultancy?

Drumlin Systems is an independent consultancy. You will work directly with a dedicated fractional systems architect. We can also offer project management services if a project demands advanced development or specific skillsets. In these cases, we can pull in trusted specialists to work on the project, but you still have one point of contact throughout the entire process: Drumlin Systems.

Where are you located, and do you work with clients remotely?

We are based in Midcoast Maine, and we primarily serve regional institutions and small businesses in New England. However, we do collaborate with clients remotely and would love to learn more about your needs even if you are a neighbor living further away!

How do we get started on a project?

Our process starts with a simple intake conversation or online project submission form. We review your current operational bottlenecks, assess any tech you are currently using, and map out a clear, practical path forward before any building begins. We will provide you with a free price quote for your project after intake. And if you aren’t sure where to begin, we also provide free 20 minute consultations!

What is your primary focus?

Our primary focus is creating technical solutions for our clients, and we try to automate whenever possible. This results in delivering a low-cost, long-term solution for our clients moving forward.

Do I need to know how to code or hire tech staff?

No way! Every system is built to be maintainable by your internal team, and comes complete with appropriate documentation and instructions. We like to ensure your team understands how the system works so you are never locked into an external technical dependency. However, if you would like us to take care of your automations rather than take that on yourself, we do offer maintenance services beyond project builds.

Do you replace our existing internal IT staff or team members?

Never. We act as a fractional partner designed to complement your existing team. We can shoulder extra work during large system overhauls, or take on small projects that allow your internal staff to continue focusing on their daily core mission.

How do you handle project pricing and scoping?

We focus on value-based, transparent project scoping. You will receive a clear breakdown of costs and deliverables before any technical work begins. We will also include any estimated costs associated with keeping an automation running after the project work with Drumlin ends.

Do you require a long-term contract?

We do not require any long-term contracts, and much of our work is project-to-project. But we are also available by the hour and by retainer. We also offer flexible advisory and ongoing optimization services for organizations that want continuous technical support as they continue to grow.

Can you work with our purchase order process?

Absolutely. We also offer non-profit and education discounts!
